Dog's Days of Summer

dogsdays

[screwbald]
[music |Jack Johnson - Upside Down]

While the sun will still rise at Anthrocon, sadly there has been a manufacturer's error with the Dog's Days camp shirts and they need to be redone. So, long story short? They can't make it to AC next week. If you pre-ordered, you have a couple of options.
If you can't make it to AC and couldn't pre-order, well, this might be your lucky break as now the remaining shirts will be sold online when the second, properly done run becomes available.

Sofawolf will have a few of the sample shirts, (which were done correctly), so people can still see the shirt in person at the convention in the Dealer's Room.

To our valued customers-

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Sofawolf Press will be unable to release the Dog's Days Camp Shirts at Anthrocon as advertised.

When the shirts arrived from the factory early last week, the producer contacted me to say that he was highly dissatisfied with the quality of the product, but that he would send the shirts along for me to evaluate personally. We received them on Friday and regretfully have had to agree with his judgement. The joining of the sleeves to the body of the shirt was done improperly, and several of the measurements are incorrect. The end result is a shirt that is constricting and pretty near unwearable (I have tried)...

The producer is having the entire run re-done to specifications, however doing so will take several weeks. We are working with them to get a better idea as to the timeframe and will provide another update in the next couple of weeks. They will be rushing the order as much as possible for us, but the fabric will need to be re-made and the entire lot re-tailored, and that is not a fast process.

Obviously this is not the deal as intended when we set out the pre-orders, so the choice is yours:
  • Anyone who has pre-ordered a shirt can, if they choose, just drop us a note and we will refund the full price of your order.
  • Anyone who would like to wait will receive their shirts as soon as we can send them. People who ordered expecting to be able to pick up their shirts at Anthrocon will recieve them shipped free of charge.
Please respond to let us know that you have recieved this e-mail, and let us know how you would like to proceed. If you would like to wait until we have a better idea of the delay involved, just please confirm that you recieved the message and would like to wait. It will help us to ensure that we are reaching everyone.

We apologize for not being able to meet your expectations. However, in the end we would much rather delay the delivery of the shirts than to provide our customers with a product that is not up to our standards.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns and I will do my best to get answers for you.

Thanks for your support.

~The Sofawolf Team

It's a shame, but it's a problem that was well out of Sofawolf's hands, and these things happen.

BUT, the comic (which is the important thing) is most certainly perfect and free from any printer's errors, and would love to go home with you this AC. >;]

Anyhow, my AnthroCon prep still goes as stressfully planned and I'll be hitting the road in a few... hours? Yikes, back to work for me! See you at AC!

Cheers,
-Blotch

I can certainly see being stressed out. Hope there are no hitches and you can relax once you get there.

Do you know if we contact them through their customer support form or just reply to that e-mail?

Well, S' happens, as they say. Nevertheless I do hope that you both have an amazing fun and profitable con. It'll also be nice to see the comic in hard copy finally :)

I'm amazed!

The end result is a shirt that is constricting and pretty near unwearable (I have tried)...

Could you please still sell them to the masochistic ones among us?

All I can say is that I'm glad they were up front about it. Good to have proof that there are still good people out there :3 Ah well, I'm sure everyone will be much happier this time 'round. Hope you enjoy the con. Im sure things will go swimmingly.

I'd take the fabric from the defected shirts and make a pillow case. :3 Sofawolf's site is down atm so I'll ask here. Since a whole new lot has to be made will there be an opportunity to make a pre-order since I missed out on that before?
