Dog's Days of Summer
Hullo there, folks!|
As the summer is winding to a close, I've found myself faced with a tough decision. Time-wise, it's nigh impossible for me to continue updating Dog's Days of Summer every week. I have a few conventions with large art shows coming up, some travel (In fact, I'm in Germany right now), and a little pre-planned "me-time" on the horizon.
It is by no means quick to write, thumbnail, sketch, clean up, ink, marker, touch up with paint, scan, format, add text to and post the comic every week. >;]
On that note, I certainly don't want to let the comic fade out without resolution! So, I've made the decision to pause production of the comic, write the second half ahead of time, work on it without the impending deadline, and either publish the full comic on the web or to a printed form. This way I can ensure a fully thought out story with quality artwork. I don't want the characters to suffer from rushed installments.
I will do my best to get another installment or two up when I get back to the country, just to resolve the current situation some.
I will continue to use this journal to post paintings inspired by Diego's universe, sketches, sneak-peaks and all that jazz, so you're more than welcome to remain watching the community. :]
It has been a fun challenge and I look forward to doing the characters and their story justice. I'm aiming for January to have the project completed and hopefully it won't be too ambitious. :]
Thank you all so much for your participation and for help making the characters into who they are! I could not have done it without the support from the comic's fans and I am very grateful!
